About Me
I have always been drawn to nurture and encourage those around me! As a lover of all things related to birth and babies, I earned my BSN in nursing with a specialty in pediatrics, then quickly thereafter became trained as a doula, Lamaze Childbirth Educator, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). My extensive experience includes: serving as a breast-feeding specialist in a pediatric office, conducting postpartum visits to assist and educate new parents about breastfeeding, newborn care, health evaluations, and helping to facilitate adjustment to postpartum life for the whole family. While my educational training and work experiences gave me a solid foundation, my professional skills were elevated to a whole new level when I met a new, inspiring mentor in September 2010 -- my baby daughter!  Now having gone through the magical experience of motherhood myself, I recognize even more the importance of a strong support system. After facing challenges with my children, it is my highest honor to help other parents overcome their challenges and guide them along a gentle and wondrous path to forge a deep and everlasting connection with their baby.

What is an IBCLC?

The International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or Registered Lactation Consultant (RLC) credential identifies a knowledgeable and experienced member of the maternal-child health team who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. IBCLCs are certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners Inc. under the direction of the US National Commission for Certifying Agencies. IBCLCs work in a variety of health care settings including hospitals, pediatric offices, public health clinics, and in private practice.
